May 4th, 2009
A one-time payment of $250 will be made in 2009 to: Retirees, disabled individuals and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) receupits receiving benifits from the Social Security Administration. Disbaled veterans receiving benifits from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. Railroad Retirement beneficiaries. The IRS will not make this payment – unlike last year’s economic stimilus program. Individuals who may qualify for this year’s economic recovery payment should contact their respective agency for more information.
The Social Security Administration Web site has a special section on the economic recovery payment.

The Facts About The Democrats’ Budget… or so says the republican party!
May 1st, 2009
The Largest Tax Increase in American History: The Democrats’ budget will raise taxes by $1.4 trillion over the next ten years.
Taxes Aimed Directly At Small Businesses: The Democrats’ budget includes a proposal to raise income taxes. Because most small businesses do not pay corporate income taxes, and instead pay taxes on small business income on their individual returns, small businesses will be particularly hard hit by this tax increase.
Half Of All Impacted Taxpayers Own Small Businesses: According to the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, 50.3% of all filers in the top bracket earn at least 25% of their income from business activities. Now we wait and see!
